Cleveland,
Jesse F. - Born February 7, 1847 in the town of Spartanburg,
South Carolina. Attended Wofford College until 1864, when
he entered the Army. After the war, read medicine with his
father, Dr. R. E. Cleveland, and entered the South Carolina
Medical College, graduating at the Jefferson Medical College in
Philadelphia, in 1869. Practiced in Spartanburg and
surrounding country for eighteen year, when he retired to attend
to his private practice. Is director of the National Bank
of Spartanburg; of the Arkwright and Glendale Cotton Mills: of
the Produco Oil Mill: the Limestone Lime Company: and the
president of the Tucapau Cotton Mill. Is largely
interested in agriculture and manufacturing. Married Miss
Caro V. Zimmerman of Glenn Springs in June 1873.

Meeting
At
the annual meeting of the stockholders of the Tucapau Mills, Dr.
Jesse F. Cleveland, in this city, yesterday, a semi-annual
dividend of five cents per share was declared. The affairs
of the mill were shown to be in excellent condition from the
reports submitted. Following officers were elected:
Dr. J. F. Cleveland, president; John Z. Cleveland,
treasurer; Alfred Moore, general manager; H. M. Cleveland,
assistant manager and assistant treasurer.
